Field Checklist
Alright gang, this will be an ongoing checklist of what needs to be done to the field in order to accomplish the transformation that we are planning out. These are not only ideas to make the field more fun to play on, but also things that can add newer and more versitile elments to our gameplay, and make the field safer for us all. Not all of these will be tasks that can be accomplished right away, but tasks that will take time.
**** PLEASE NOTE: **** THIS IS NOT THE FORUM FOR NEW IDEAS. THOSE CAN BE DISCUSSED ON OTHER PAGES. THIS IS A LIST STRICTLY FOR THINGS THAT WILL BE DONE, OR ARE IN THE PROCESS OF BEING COMPLETED.

Re: Field Checklist
I'll start with some of the ones that are obvious:
1. The lower side of the field NEEDS to be cleaned up. The shitpile has to be sorted, and everything not being reused must be removed. This is a safety issue, as Raven and I found dozens of boards with nice, rusty nails sticking up. Unless we all want to test out how effective our tetanus shots are, this needs immediate attention.
2. Another safety issue that I have heard about from EVERYBODY. The hill leading down to the lower field. For this we will need 3 or 4 sections of railroad tie at least 3" in length a piece. We will dig out the hill, put in the sections and secure them in place with posts or rebar and filled in dirt. The other option is to buy a pre-fabricated staircase and set it into the hill after it has been dug out. We can then put grip tape on the step surfaces to keep all of us from biffing it on that hill ever again.
3. Bridges. There are at least three, possibly four spots that cross the creek that will need permenant bridges. One is at the bottom of the hill, two are at paths that lead down from the upper lane, and one is where the log crosses the creek in the backfield. For the larger ones, bridges will be built as follows: two pieces of 4x4 that are between 6' and 8' in length (depending on the section of creek to be crossed) will be laid down across the creek. We will then nail boards to these 4x4's in order to make the bridge. Measurements should be done first, build the bridges on dry land and move them to the creek. we can then put grip tape over the tops to avoid slippage. Keep in mind that the creek should be able to flow freely under the bridges, otherwise we end up with standing water, and therefore mosquitos.
4. Fort Slaughter - (name under review) This will be the field's crowning achievement. This involves several stages. First, completely clear the back field area. Second, clear all stumps from the ground. Third, bleach and salt the earth so that nothing ever grows there again. After that is complete, we will begin the construction of a 12' x 8' room. The roof of this room will be strong enough to support several of us as the second story of the fort. We will then wall the structure with fencing, and customize it along the way. Once we have a drwan up plan for this project, this will take EVERYONE to complete. But when it is done, it will kick very much ass!
5. Narrow the brush closest to the horse path. The purpose of this is to make it so that you don't have to run 20 yards to get to cover when taking the path closest to the horses. We will cut brush to widen the amount of clear ground, and continue this until we are approaching the barrels near the clearing. We will leave enough brush near the clearing to ensure a goodly amount of cover. Also, while doing this, we will cut a path connecting the horse path to the middle lane.
As these are completed, they will be replaced with new goals that have passed through the general team discussions, and been decided on by a majority of the team, including command staff. Many of these initial projects were undertaken simply because they are what needed to be done, but there will be ample time in the future to implement ideas from all team members. Any questions or suggestions, contact myself or Raven.
